After the division of the AP in 2014, there were no direct elections happened in Andhra Pradesh. Many bye-elections conducted in Telangana and ruling TRS showed supremacy over other political parties in the state. Results in TG were almost one-sided for TRS. Nandyala bye-election will be held on August 23rd because of sad demise of Bhuma Nagi Reddy. This is the first direct election in AP after 2014 general elections. TDP and YSRCP have paid more attention on this election with their strength. Bhuma Nagi Reddy brother's son Bhuma Brahmananda Reddy will be TDP choice. Shila Mohana Reddy who stood for 2014 election as TDP nominee in Nandyala joined in YSRCP and Jagan announced YSRCP candidate as Shilpa. It is interesting that Congress party too wants to field it's candidate for Nandyala. It seems that Nandyala bey-election as Semi-final for 2019 general elections in the state.
