Polavaram is a multi-purpose irrigation project which termed as life-line to Andhra Pradesh. As per AP Reorganization Act, Union Government was declared Polavaram as Nation's Project. Chief Minister CBN repeatedly requesting NDA Government for funds to Polavaram. He was dedicated every Monday for Polavaram review that made Irrigation department to speed-up Polavaram activities. Last month, Finance Minister Arun Jaitely announced that NABARD would disperse funds to Polavaram on behalf-of Union Government. As promised, Union Ministers handed over 1,981 crores NABARD cheque to Chief Minister Chandra Babu Naidu. Jaitley praised the commitment of Sujana Chowdary in getting funds for Polavaram. Party leaders in Two Telugu states have taken this programme as seriously as they can to sustain hold in their segments. Last time, TDP membership increased to 50 lacs in across two Telugu states.
