Farmers felt that their dream fulfilled after longtime. Geographically Telangana situated in upper area where lift irrigation is inevitable for the farmers to cultivate their land. Even though there is abundant power production in the state, AP Government has not implemented this scheme. AP Government able to supply only 8 hours quality power to agriculture sector in the state. Telangana Irrigation department has recently conducted survey on ground level water in the state and the survey report mentioned that water level dipped by 20 meters in 76 mandals. The report suggested that Government should encourage farmers to cultivate crops that were not dependent on rains.
TG Govt has purchased power from Chattisgarh with high price. Medak. Siddipet, Sanga Reddy, Adilabad, Nizamabad and Suryapet where water levels are drastically comes down. As per report, since one year farmers used 790 bore wells for getting water from the ground that causes dry in and around the area. Government has no control on farmers for not digging the water through bore wells. It seems that 24x7 power supply is not boon for the state.
