YSRCP was formed seven years back in 2011. The party was conducted two plenary meetings so far. The two plenary meetings was conducted at Idupulapaaya at late YSR Ghat in Kadapa district. First time YS Jagan was decided to conduct party plenary at Vijayawada on July 08th and 09th. It seems that there are three reasons that forced Jagan to make the decision.
1. Soon after Chandra Babu Naidu announced Amaravati as new capital for Andhra Pradesh, YS Jagan was openly against the CBN decision. YS Jagan felt that AP's new capital can't build in fertile farmers lands. The lands between Guntur and Vijayawada were very costly and fertile too. The farmers were able to grown three crops in Krishna belt. People themselves come forward and sacrifice their 30K land to Government for state capital. Sakshi media openly published articles against to Amaravati. People were in thought that Jagan was against to capital. Now Jagan wants to eradicate this remark against YSRCP.
2. In 2014 elections, YSRCP performed well in 3 districts of Rayalaseema and Two districts of Coastal Andhra Nellore and Prakasam. Jagan feel that YSRCP has it's strong hold in Rayalaseema and needs to concentrate Coastal Districts to fight 2019 elections. This is the second reason that YSRCP decide to conduct plenary in Vijayawada which is the centre of the state.
3. Right from the beginning YSRCP was in against to Pattiseema lift irrigation project that aims to brought Godavari water into Krishna river for the benefit of the farmers of Krishna Delta. Jagan openly criticised Pattiseema project both in and out of the Assembly. CBN was successfully completed the project and the same share of water to Krishna Delta from Srisailam reservoir were send to Rayalaseema resgion. But people in two districts were in opinion that Jagan was against to the development of Guntur and Krishna districts.
Based on the above three reasons, YSRCP seeks to conduct it's plenary to get rid of bad image against Coastal districts.
