This is the latest hashtag trending in social media for two days. Chinese tennis star Peng Shuai is missing. Peng is a former doubles player who won the titles at the Wimbledon and the French Open. Chinese tennis player Peng Shuai hasn't been seen for 16 days and counting after she accused a CCP leader of sexual assault. Reportedly, her last public presence was on November 02nd. She made an allegation that she was sexually assaulted by top ranked Chinese politician Zhang Gaoli who was also Vice-Premier of China.
Peng was claimed on Weibo post in
social media on November 02nd that Zhang was coerced her for
sex and also added that she was unable to prove the allegations. Within a few
minutes after her post in social media, Peng’s online profile more or less
disappeared. Chinese internet providers removed her name. When we search her
name on the internet, it is showing “No Results Found”. Amidst all odds,
Chinese media CGTN posted a letter that was written by Peng to Women’s Tennis
Association (WTA) Chairman Steve Simson. This increases growing concerns over
Peng’s safety. The head of the WTA has cast doubt on an email claiming to be
from Chinese tennis star Peng Shuai, saying it only raises further concerns for
her safety.
China is trying to evade questions over Peng who has not been seen since alleging sexual assault by CCP leader. WTA has responded well over Peng disappearance and her co-players like Serena and Djokovic as well. Serena Williams calls for Peng Shuai's Whereabouts to be investigated. WTA casts doubts on an email released by CGTN. The Women's Tennis Association is prepared to pull its tournaments out of China if they are not satisfied with the response to the sexual assault allegation made by former doubles world number one Peng Shuai. Her missing is another live example of no freedom and safety for people in China. The whole World knows on violating of human rights towards Uyghurs Muslim community. It is surprising that entire nations in the world are maintaining the silence on Chinese atrocities.
