Hospital admissions in the United States of America could surge to 22,000 a day by late September because of the Delta variant. The number of positive cases reported daily in the country crossed more than 1.5 lakh. Average number of covid-19 deaths is 1327 in the country. The Delta variant is the only cause for the increase of positive cases in the country. It is surprising the sudden increase of cases in the U.S. though the country had managed 61.5% of people were fully vaccinated against Covid-19. When will the latest driven surge end? After a sudden drop in cases in June, the number of cases is slowly and consistently increasing in the U.S.
As per the reports, Analysts
predict that the ongoing surge will continue in September also. People in
particular below 11 years of age have joined hospitals because of the more
transmissible Delta variant. Reportedly, more than half-million children tested
positive for coronavirus positive in the last three weeks. They are even
eligible for vaccination. It seems they are affected by elder people. Federal
governments are looking for vaccination for the children. Pfizer/BioNTech's
vaccine has been fully approved by the FDA for Americans 16 and older and
emergency use authorization has been granted for those 12 and up. Apart from
the highly transmissible delta variant for spreading in the country, children
are mingling with people due to re-opening of schools.
As per the latest COVID-19 surge
leaves US hospitals with oxygen shortages. Due to the sudden rush for hospital
admissions in the U.S., demand for Oxygen cylinders and ventilators is
inevitable. FDA is warning people not to take a drug which is used to treat
parasites in livestock for coronavirus treatment. It suggests people to wear
masks and maintain social distance to limit the pandemic. The high numbers
received just days before Americans look to celebrate summer's end with Labor
Day parties. 5.5 lakh vaccines are currently administered in the country. FDA
has to approve the booster shots before they become available, but also
publicly stated a deadline of Sep 20.
