The only section worrisome after Taliban takeover of Afghanistan on women rights and freedom. Soon after they seized power in the country, The Taliban imposed several conditions for the loss of their power. Women were tried their level best for their rights even after the Taliban came into power. They organized dharnas and protests for freedom but the Taliban brutally controlled the agitation. Women in Afghanistan have been developing for 20 years in education and their way of living life with the help of the UN and other developed nations. The Taliban even did not try to consider women inclusion into their government. Taliban crackdown on women is continuing in Afghanistan.
Taliban opened fire against women who were protesting for their rights in Kabul on September 30. The protest is for the girls returned to school. Taliban has imposed a ban on girls to study and employment for women in Afghanistan. Women protests have been continuing in Afghanistan since the Taliban took power. After the Taliban returned to power, advertisements of women wearing dresses were quickly covered with paint on walls in Afghanistan streets. Women in Afghanistan continue to face various forms of violence. Now, the Taliban have imposed special conditions only for the women section. They should not wear bright colored dresses.
Women's dresses should not be attractive. Taliban feel if women do not wear proper dress it will deviate people's attention. The second condition for a woman is that she should not smell good and should not use perfume when she leaves home. The third is not to wear long boots and their boots should not make a sound which is like an announcement by women to men. Taliban has defended their conditions that women boots sound prompt young men to look towards them. Women were told to stay home and to cover themselves an early indicator that other rights, protections and services for women would soon be eliminated. Taliban are trying to erase women’s presence from the walls, from the streets, from schools, from work, from government.
