40% of Omicron cases in the UK?

The first death was reported in the United Kingdom (UK) with a new variant of Covid-19, Omicron. Prime Minister Boris Johnson has confirmed the first Omicron death and said the number of patients admitted to hospitals is increasing. The world’s first Omicron death is reported in the UK. On Sunday alone, 1,239 cases were reported. Of these, 40 percent came from the capital, London. More than 3,000 people in the country have been infected with Omicron so far. Boris Johnson, who addressed the nation has warned that Omicron was about to go on a rampage. UK Prime Minister has announced a new plan for the fight against Omicron.


The New Omicron variant has already spread across 63 nations. Vaccination certification and masks at indoor events are mandatory for going to nightclubs. Mentioned to work from home if possible. Everyone is advised to take the booster‌. Level-4 warnings were issued in the UK for the first time since May. Boris really stressed the need for the booster jab and massively campaign the need for a booster shot to the people. Omicron is showing signs of rapid spread throughout the UK as authorities urge the community to get vaccinated. The health department in the UK has said that Omicron infections in the UK could reach 200k per day.



The super-contagious variant will become the dominant strain of coronavirus in London. It's unclear whether omicron causes milder symptoms than other coronavirus variants though experts still urge the public to get vaccinated. Boris government has made rigorous campaigns on booster jab to break the chain of the new variant. The UK has completed 70% vaccination and booster dose also completed 34.4% in the country. Denmark is second worldwide only to the UK in confirmed cases of Omicron, with the Nordic country reporting a total of 3,437 cases since the variant emerged. France is set to be hit by a sixth Covid-19 wave in January due to the Omicron variant.
