Omicron, which has been making inroads in many countries around the world, has also set foot in India. The two were diagnosed with Omicron on Thursday in Bangalore. This was confirmed by the Central Government itself. The results of the genetic analysis of some other foreign traveler models are yet to come. With that, the number of countries where Omicron cases have been registered has reached 30. Another who came to Hyderabad from abroad also got positive. However, it remains to be seen which variant it will be. One of them is a South African (66) and the other is a Bangalore doctor (44) with no travel history.
The South African arrived in
India on November 20 through Dubai. He arrived in Bangalore with a negative
certificate and was tested positive the same day. The government doctor advised
isolating. The sample was sent for genetic analysis on the 22nd of last month.
However, at midnight of November 27, he booked a cab and left the hotel for
Dubai. Covid-19 received a negative certificate from a private lab without any
hindrance to travel. He, on the other hand, received two doses of the vaccine.
All of his contacts tested negative. Health officials disclosed that people no
need to worry as long as the Omicron cases came out, but that precautions had
been ignored.
It is said that the chances of
getting infected are much higher compared to other variants. It has twice as
many bad (bad) spike mutations as the Delta variant. They mentioned that the
symptoms of the disease are mild in the cases registered in our country along
with different countries. Corona tests for those coming from abroad were
reviewed on monitoring. Meanwhile, the British government on Thursday approved
a satrovimab drug developed for the treatment of covid-19. The country's drug
regulatory authority hopes the new treatment will work on newer variants such
as Omicron. The Indian government is on high alert on omicron after the
failure in handling the second wave.
