No freedom for press in China. It is better to talk less about Chinese freedom of press. Journalists in China media has published what Communist party once published.
The press is just the party’s mouthpiece. Its purpose is not to inform but to justify China’s culture of secrecy. The state media is remaining in silence on what happened in Galwan valley. Chinese Media had not published not a word on Chinese causalities but blamed India as violator in their columns.
Global Times duly reported on
causalities of Indian side in the clash but silent on PLA causalities. The
biggest headline in Xinhua is Xi Jinping’s Phone call to Ecuador President. Xinhua,
Chinese news agency is just sidelined the causalities of Chinese side with irrelevant
news. Coverage of China and India stand-off in Galwan valley blocked out by
Chinese media. State Media puts out stories with twisted facts. US Intelligence
report helps to know the causalities from Chinese end.
U.S. News reported at least 35 Chinese soldiers were believed to have perished – including one senior officer – in a violent confrontation in the contested region of northern India and southwestern China. China as of Wednesday confirmed casualties but did not specify how many among its own forces. As per the US Intelligence, Chinese feel ashamed and humiliated after getting the huge damage. India has experience losing forces along its contested border regions, particularly with Pakistan. But for China the incident marked a rare moment of embarrassment – and one it fears may embolden other adversaries along its border.
