Telangana becomes Hotspot for Coronavirus

Congress MLA Seethakka was asked Telangana Chief Minister KCR to provide masks for health workers in March during budget sessions. 

KCR and TRS leaders laughed at her and KCR said that virus can’t sustain in Telangana. He talked like a scientist asked to take paracetmol to avoid coronavirus. Now, he appeared to people wearing mask. The situation in Telangana seems to be worst from worse. Four crore people in the state are looking towards one Covid-19 hospital (Gandhi Hospital).

Initially, he committed to control the virus and helpless after lockdown-4. Not only in Telangana, is every state in India facing the similar situation. But attitude of Telangana in handling the coronavirus is grim and sad. Telangana had an early head start, but the story of the state in the days since has cast a shadow on its response to the pandemic. High infection rate, low testing, tired doctors are the reasons for failure of KCR on coronavirus. Telangana government claims to have followed ICMR guidelines all along the way, and dismissed all questions about what is seen as a very low testing rate.  

Even the state’s doctors have raised complaints about poor-quality personal protective equipment (PPE) and the work conditions. Telangana had conducted nearly 45K tests. Government ignored High Court directions in Tests and defended that they followed ICMR guidelines. On other side there are many complaints on Gandhi Hospital. Doctors and Health Workers haven’t paid any attention towards patients. Reportedly, State Health Ministry is disclosing less numbers which was objected by High Court. Everything is messy on coronavirus in Telangana. Media also don’t show correct picture in Telangana. KCR’s predictions are good in politics but not worked out in general matters.
