The Supreme Court set a four-week
deadline for the Andhra Pradesh government to remove the ruling YSR Congress
party colors on public buildings. The verdict is more than the regular usage
like setback to the government. Apex court was warned and threatened contempt
proceedings on two IAS officers if they fail to comply the order. The verdict
creates troubles to IAS officers than YSRCP Government. It seems Government can’t
escape from its responsibility.
YSRCP leaders should rethink among themselves
why government order is eligible for legal review. Courts find fault in
Government GOs for more than 60 times. Panchayat Raj system was introduced in
1959 not with victory of YSRCP in 2019 elections. Every village had its own panchayat
building. How can the YSRCP government owning them. TDP gave yellow colors to
Anna Canteens which was party’s election manifesto. But YSRCP used to paint
party colors to government buildings. Unfortunately, AP officers and advisors
forget thin difference between two. AP
Government can able to complete Polavaram project with the amount they spend
for painting and removing colors to panchayat buildings.
