cut their business with China. Railways cancels project contracts awarded to
Beijing Company amid LAC tension. The Indian Railways decided to scrap project
contracts awarded to Beijing National Railway Research and Design Institute of
Signal and Communication Group, citing poor work progress. Government of India
issued orders to all state run telecom operators like BSNL and MTNL & other
subsidiaries not use Chinese equipment to upgrade 4G. Telecom Industry ordered
not to import anything from China.
India’s total Telecom Equipment
market value is 12K crores per annum. Chinese firms controls one-fourth of
India’s Telecom market. Huawei is particularly is under fire across the world. Huawei
equipment is cheaper than Ericsson and NOKIA. India is allowed Huawei in 5G
trails despite US pressure. Bharati Airtel and Vodafone Idea mostly relay on
Huawei in 5G trails in India. The auction for 5G spectrum is not held in this
year. The government still has time not to allow Huawei in 5G trails.
