Indians showed their unanimity against the consumption of Chinese products whenever it possible. #BoycottChineseProducts campaign was started after Galwan valley incident in Ladakh region between Indian Army and Chinese PLA.
The campaign went viral in social media after 20 Indian soldiers killed by PLA. The momentum was spread across all states in India followed by ban of Chinese Apps. Now, in some places people are used Diwali as part of its campaign against Chinese products.
The lamps made out of cow dung during Diwali festival are a new front of India’s boycott China campaign. Popularly known as Diyas, are normally made of mud and clay. Since last few years, Chinese made LED lights have flooded into the market. The government of India is trying to minimize the dependence on China for many things. A local campaign has been calling to the people on use of cow dung diyas.
India ramped up its self-reliant campaign as and when pandemic virus disturbed its global chains. Border clashes with China also forced Indian merchants to boycott Chinese goods. They gave preference on made local campaign for home made products. Making and using these organic diyas can benefit local workers like in small scale industry. Social activists said that cow dung lamps also good for the environment. Here on the occasion of Diwali, there are no goods from China or goods made in China in many places in India. The general public seems to have a lot of tendency towards indigenous goods.
