Demand for Free Food rises in United States

Yes it is true! Most developed nation in the world is suffering with pandemic virus at it’s worst. Political uncertainty seems to be after 3 weeks clear but the havoc of coronavirus could not come into under control. 

The nation has already crossed 10 million positive corona cases and casualties reached more than 260K. Many people were applied for jobs to survive in their respective states that forced people rushed for free food. Photos appeared in social media where people standing in long queues for free food. We had seen these photos earlier in South America and African nations.

Demand for free food is rising in the US as the nation’s Covid-19 case numbers soar. YMCA has been offering free food boxes in New Jersey for the people. YMCA had distributed free food weekly once on every Tuesday twice to the people. YMCA organizers are said they have huge demand on us to increase number of times of free food distribution. People are waiting for food in their own vehicles that stretches for miles. As per YMCA organizers number of cars in queue were 150 every Tuesday when we started in April, now the car numbers increased to 500. This is because of losing of employment because of pandemic virus.

The country’s unemployment rate at it’s worst in April, when 14.7% were out of work. It was improved in October to 6.9% which was still worse than 4.8% when Donald Trump was took office in 2017. YMCA meadowlands started offering food handouts in March. It has provided 670K meals for around 45K families. The US is still the worst-hit nation in the world as the pandemic drags on. White House coronavirus task force signaled that the nation's pandemic situation is worsening, with more overrun hospitals and deaths potentially approaching 2,000 a day in the lead-up to Christmas—unless strong mitigation measures are taken.
