Everyone wants to get credit of finding the pandemic virus vaccine. Research is going on at different levels for many companies on finding the vaccine for coronavirus.
But no one can assured and confirmed when the real vaccine hits the open market. Amid of this hectic competition, some of the nations are trying to follow unethical procedures. It seems confidential data on Covid-19 vaccine research is not safe and secure for many pharma companies. They are making headway in developing coronavirus vaccines are being targeted by hackers.
Microsoft has sounded the alert saying
that nation sponsored hackers are on their way to steak the research data. The
Tech giant also said that it has warded off many cyber-attacks in recent past.
The hacking attempts are come from some state sponsored hacking groups.
Microsoft put blame on Russian and North Korea hackers on stealing of
coronavirus research data. Cyber-attacks came from Strontium of Russian group
which also known as Fancy Bear. Zinc and Cerium based in North Korea are doing
hacking process.
There are nearly 7 companies are currently involved in COVID-19 vaccine development were targeted to the hackers. They are targeting researchers and hospitals in India, Canada, France, South Korea and US. The hackers are reportedly used password spray and made multiple attempts to steal login credentials. Zinc used spear-phishing lures by sending fake messages to steal credentials. Cerium feigned the identity of WHO representative through mails for the purpose of phishing. Microsoft is calling on the world’s leaders to affirm that international law protects health care facilities and to take action to enforce the law.
