All of the sudden China’s PLA has moved back tents, vehicles and troops by 1-2 KM from locations where disengagement was agreed. The reason behind this episode is Ajit Doval. He held talks with Chinese Foreign Minister and State Councilor Wang Yi, right before soldiers of the People’s Liberation Army were reported to have taken the early steps to move back from the standoff points in the Galwan area.
National Security Advisor Ajit Doval’s conversation with Chinese Foreign Minister was played vital role on China’s back step. Ajit Doval is the 5th and current National Security Advisor to the Prime Minister of India. Earlier, he served as Director for Intelligence Bureau during UPA period. This is not the first time he involved into the issues when India struggle with its neighboring nations. He is widely credited for the doctrinal shift in Indian national security policy in relation to Pakistan.
It was speculated that the September 2016 Indian strikes in Pakistan-controlled Kashmir were his brainchild. Doval is also widely credited for resolving Doklam Standoff through diplomatic channels and negotiations. Doval’s ground level visit when riots occurred in New Delhi early this year. Ajit Doval visited affected areas and pacify the situation in Delhi. Ajit Doval came into the picture whenever the situation seems to out of control.
