Yogi's reputation damaged with series of rapes in UP

Union Government was announced that Uttar Pradesh is 2nd best state in Ease of doing business (EODB). Chief Minister Yogi Adithyanath did his best in inviting the investments to UP.

UP has controlled pandemic virus effectively under Yogi Leadership. Unlike Mulayam Singh Yadav and Mayawati era, Yogi Government is doing in different approach in development for the state. On other side of the coin law & order in the state is also matters for Yogi Government. Two rape cases in Uttar Pradesh spoiled his image at national level.

Unnao rape case in 2017 and Hathras rape in 2020 have damaged Yogi’s image and degrade BJP in India. BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Senagar was arrested and court sentenced life imprisonment to BJP MLA. The 19-year-old Dalit girl was allegedly raped by four upper-caste men in Hathras district in northern India. She was grievously injured and died in a Delhi hospital after fighting for her life for two weeks. UP police actions after the victim dies are dubious. They hijacked the Dalit girl’s dead body without informing to her kith and kin. According to her brother, police forced them not to politicize the issue and forced us to complete the cremation. A huge uproar takes place over forceful cremation of the Dalit victim from Hathras by UP police. They cremated the victim’s body around 3 am against the family wish.

UP police has forcibly performed the last rites of the victim despite the huge protests. The Police whisked away the victim’s dead body from the hospital without informing the family. UP police did not hand over the body to the victim’s family despite them pleading to see her face last at once. Amid of huge outrage against the incident, UP Chief Minister has formed Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate the matter. He also asked the trial to be conducted in a fast track court. Victim was brutally attacked and gang raped by four upper caste men in UP on September 14. Both Unnao and Hathras rape incidents during Yogi Era are famous after Nirbhaya in 2012. It is one of the brutal and inhuman acts. The victim and her mother were collecting grass for their cattle from two distant parts of a large field when the accused allegedly overpowered the girl, gang-raped her, chopped her tongue off and broke her spinal cord, paralyzing her from the waist down.
