The real
reason for China’s frustration against India is because of development of
infrastructure at border. Whenever Defense Minister Rajnath Singh inaugurates Kailash
Manasarovar road at Indo-China border in Vyans valley of Pithoragarh district
of Uttarakhand the annoyance of China reached to peaks.
75-kms long Manasarovar
road link facilitates for pilgrims quick to reach Manasarovar. China feels that
Manasarovar road link easy for Indian Army to reach the border easily without
taking any difficulties. This leads to first Indo-China stiff on June 15
th
at Galwan valley.
Indian workers
are now building roads near the India-China border amid tensions between them. The
construction is about 280-kms long Nimmu-Padam-Darcha highway along the Zanskar
river. PM Modi will inaugurate 8.8 km tunnel in coming weeks. It will be the
first road to provide all year connectivity to Ladakh. The construction site is
nearer to the confrontations occurred between Indian Army and PLA. The region
is cut-off several months in a year because of snow falls. This construction
highlights India’s efforts to boost infrastructure in border areas.

There are 2
main highways connecting the snow deserts to the rest of the country. But they
are closed at least 4 months in a year. Nimmu-Padam-Darcha (NPD) highway is
expected to be ready in 3 years. It will provide the only year-round access to
large parts of Ladakh at border. As usual, China opposed to India’s
infrastructure building near the border area. China said it does not recognize
Ladakh Union Territory which is legally constructed. India is now pushing
harder to blast and smash its way through the Himalayas.
