European Nations are experiencing second wave of coronavirus. Major countries like UK and Germany imposed lockdown after increasing number of cases.
Lebanon, a country from Western Asia is suffering with recent bomb blasts facing another challenge. Lebanon is reeling from its worst economic crisis in decades, has recorded 52,558 novel coronavirus cases, including 455 deaths. The country tightens restrictions further to control the pandemic virus.
Lebanon is currently witnessing a surge in the number of recorded positive coronavirus cases. The big fear is that the country’s battered health system will simply the overwhelmed as it grapples with the effects of an economic meltdown and the destruction of the Beirut blast in August. Government has ordered more than a 150 villages into lockdown for a week. It has ordered bars and nightclubs to close until further notice.
Lebanon’s weeklong localized lockdown
went into effect Sunday morning, with the local authorities ordering a total of
111 towns and some villages across the country to be sealed off until Monday,
Oct. 12. Lebanese villages and towns will go into lockdown for the next week. Cases
in Lebanon have been rising since early July when the country eased a
nationwide lockdown and opened its only international airport. The numbers
increased dramatically following an August 4 blast in Beirut that killed and
wounded many, as people gathered at hospitals, funerals and anti-government
protests.
