Why the most destructive batsman lost the touch in IPL 2020?

West Indian players are in huge demand for IPL franchise teams in every season. They also got successes in IPL with their performance than in regular ODIs and Test matches. There were many records noted in the name Chris Gayle during the end of his IPL career in 2019. Andre Russel, Polard, Bravo, Sunil Narine, Pooran and Hetmayer are playing in current season of IPL in different teams. KKR and IPL lovers also looking towards Andre Russel to entertain but he continuously failed to in this season. In 2019 IPL season, West Indian cricketer appeared as run machine to it’s franchise Kolkata Night Riders (KKR).

He was the most formidable batsman having strike 204.81 in 2019 for KKR. But in this season he didn’t show his performance on par with last season. Compared to IPL 2019, Russel performance is down in 2020 by several notches. He just managed to score 55 runs in 5 innings he played for KKR in IPL 2020 with a highest score of just 24 runs. His strike rate also plummeted to 137.50. He scored just 11 of 11 in match against MI and was removed for 2 of 4 deliveries against CSK. On other side, he managed to contribute with the ball so far. He took 5 wickets in 4 innings having strike rate of 12 and economy rate of 8.

KKR bought Andre Russel with a price of 8.5 crore. He is the most valuable player for KKR. Eoin Morgan who is the captain of World Cup winning team 2019 sold out to KKR with a price of 5.25 crores. Andre Russell is more value than English Captain. Andre Russell is one of the wealthiest West-Indian cricketers. Most of his income comes from T20 leagues and brand endorsements. Andre Russell not only has a good reputation in IPL (Indian Premier League) he is famous for other leagues too. The updated Net Worth of Andre Russell in 2020 is $65 million. It’s Andre Russell’s knee injury which he picked while saving a boundary during KXIP’s run-chase. His comeback is certainly requires for KKR to move to next level of IPL 2020.
