Two drugs Remdesivir and Hydroxychloroquine are getting popular after the eruption of pandemic virus in the world. Though the actual vaccine not ready for coronavirus, many countries relay on two drugs temporarily to fight with coronavirus.
Countries like United States and Brazil request India for the supply of Hydroxychloroquine, malaria drug which is believed to increase immunity in human beings. World Health Organization (WHO) has found that Anti-viral drug Remdesvir has little or no impact on covid-19 patients.
It is ridiculous that WHO revealed the facts 8 months after the coronavirus eruption. The WHO trial evaluated four potential medications for Covid-19, including Remdesivir and Hydroxychloroquine. Trials on Hydroxychloroquine and Lopinavir/Ritonavir have stopped in June because they had already proven ineffective. The four drugs were tested with 11,266 adult patients in total, across 500 hospitals in more than 30 different countries. WHO came to conclusion on Remdesivir was tested in a clinical trial conducted by its scientists. Remdesivir is anti-viral drug that was recently used to treat US President Donald Trump.
Meanwhile, Gilead claimed that Remdesivir cut covid-19 recovery time by 5 days in a trial conducted by it on 1062 patients. The drug received emergency use authorization from the US Food and Drug Administration on May 1. Gilead Sciences has dismissed the WHO findings in a statement. It said that WHO data appears inconsistent. Chinese vaccine has shown promising results. BBIBP-CorV, developed by Chinese Pharma Company has triggered immune responses in early and later stages of human trials. As per WHO, BBIBP-CorV is one of the 10 coronavirus projects in Phase III trials. WHO also certified that Chinese vaccine doesn’t show any side-effects on humans in trials.
