Grand old man of India Dadabhai Naoroji mentioned about Brain Drain theory in his book called ” Poverty and Un-British rule in India” in 1967.
The theory is about emigration of highly talented and educated workers from one particular country to another. Dadabhai Naoroji was the first man to say that internal factors were not the reasons of poverty in India but poverty was caused by the colonial rule that was draining the wealth and prosperity of India. Pune based, Chirag Falor, has topped the Joint Entrance Exam-Advanced by scoring 352 out of 396. He was topped among 1.6 lakh students. Earlier, he had also cracked JEE Main and secured an all India rank of 12. But Falor has already sought admission Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), USA. He went on to appear for JEE Advanced because he felt it was more than MIT entrance. Falor, who studied in Pragati Public School in Delhi and in St Arnold Central School here till class 10, said he had planned to go back to the US in January next year. JEE topper said that he will give up his IIT seat since he is already MIT student. He secured admission in MIT in March but was pursuing studies online from here due to the COVID-19 outbreak and the subsequent lockdown.
Pune boy wants to become a researcher in astrophysics. There seems huge response on Falcor decision in Social Media. Some of the Twitter users target Falcor not pursuing IITs for his further studies. Few supported his decision of joining the MIT. Others were offended and expressed their disappointment because he chose to go to the USA. Some of them accused he is paying taxes in US instead of India. Many feel a broader outlook and leave it to topper’s wish. His decision proved that students prefer MIT over Indian IIT.
