It’s ridiculous when you heard this. When world is in global technical revolution, data loss because of mere computer blunder is silly. Now, the similar is happened in highly educated Unite Kingdom.
Around 400,000 crime records could have been affected by a data blunder. As per the officials missed records were accidentally deleted due to a coding error on 10 January, and the incident affects fingerprints, DNA, and arrest history records on the police national computer (PNC).
All these records are vanished from police computer database. Approximately 213,000 offence records, 175,000 arrest records and 15,000 person records have potentially been deleted in error. There is surprise when every start-up company using cloud as storage database, United Kingdom is following traditional computer hard-disks. Authorities say that data was accidentally deleted. Police fear offenders might miss.
There is a possibility that biometric matches between crime scenes and offenders may not be identified. The deletion of crime records affected U.K.’s visa service. UK immigration has stopped its service for next couple of days. Blunder could allow offenders to go free. UK home office is infamous for losing crime data. It will be difficult for police to reinstitute the missed evidence. Opposition is blaming Home Secretary Priti Patel for the data loss and demand to make a statement.
