Standoff and stalemate is continuing between India and China at border. As per latest information, on January 20th, Indian and Chinese soldiers were involved in a brawl in north Sikkim.
This is the third physical attacks between two sides since 7 months. The relations between two nations start decline after the eruption of coronavirus. Few diplomatic decisions taken by India were increased further between two countries. China unable to convince the development of infrastructure at India near border and banning of Chinese apps added fuel to fire to China.
As per media reports, both sides suffered with minor injuries during the physical fighting in Naku La pass in Sikkim. Chinese soldiers attempted to intrude into the Indian Territory, the officials cited above said, requesting anonymity. They added that the soldiers of China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA) were pushed back. The traditional area not been prone to face-offs and latest incident reflected China’s aggressive behavior in Sikkim. Latest clashes are after the completion of ninth round of talks between military commanders.
There is no response from Chinese side on clashes. Chinese media deny the clashes and claims as fake news. First clash takes place on May 09th, 2020 at Ladakh where four Indian army soldiers and seven Chinese troops suffered. Second clash takes place on June 15th, first deadly clash since 1975 result the deaths of 20 Indian soldiers, including a commanding officer, and an undisclosed number of Chinese soldiers. A video has surfaced in which Indian and Chinese soldiers can be seen involved in skirmish in Sikkim. Both sides soldiers can be heard shouting slogans like “go-back” and “don’t fight”.
