WhatsApp users who are masters of the updated policy are showing interest in the Signal messaging app. WhatsApp's update policy that allows users to share data with Facebook has drawn sharp criticism.
Signal looked like a boon to consumers looking for an alternative in this context. Everyone is now looking at the ‘Signal’ with the promise of protecting the privacy of consumers. After the launch of WhatsApp's privacy policy, the world's richest man, Tesla CEO Elon Musk, suggested leaving WhatsApp and choosing 'Signal'.
Musk's call received a special
response in India. Downloads are pouring into the Signal. As a result, it
overtook WhatsApp and became the top free app in the country in the App Store. The
Signal App was developed in 2014 by Signal Foundation and Signal Messenger LLC.
WhatsApp co-founder Brian Action founded the company. Brian is currently the
CEO of Signal Messenger. Moxie, who left WhatsApp in 2017, donated $ 50 million
to Marilyn's Spike Signal.
Signal app is available on Android,
iOS and also available for iPods unlike WhatsApp. Also, Windows, Linux and Mac
users like WhatsApp can download and install the Signal app. Group size can
also add up to 1000 members. The Signal
messaging app is used by journalists, activists, lawyers, researchers,
dissidents, politicians and security professionals around the world. Signal has
the backing of American whistle-blower Edward Snowden and Twitter CEO Jack
Dorsey.
