India has officially affected more than one crore population because of coronavirus. Though it is second highest in coronavirus positive cases, India has received minimum number of cases regularly.
The virus has been controlled effectively either with initiative from the people or with decisions taken by the government. The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has conducted third national serosurvey between December 7 last year and January 8.
It was carried out in the same 700
villages and wards in 70 districts of 21 states which were selected during the
previous two sero-surveys held in May-June and August-September last year,
respectively. The results of survey shocked to everyone. As per the survey, 21
per cent of the population, aged 10 years and above showed evidence of past
exposure to COVID-19. Many don't even know if coronavirus came and went. As per
the stats 27 crore people were affected with asymptomatic of the disease.
India is still vulnerable to pandemic virus. The first phase of the nationwide vaccination drive against Covid-19 had begun on January 16. Healthcare workers have only been given the first dose whereas the second dose of Covid-19 vaccine starting February 13. India became the fastest country in the world to reach the 4 million Covid-19 vaccination mark. Delhi is the most affected state with covid-19.
