Amid of all odds, UK extradition judge ordered Nirav Modi to be extradited to India to stand trial.
The judge also said that the court accepts India’s case that he threatened witnesses and tampered the evidence. Nirav Modi was arrested on an extradition warrant on March 19, 2019. By this two year legal battle comes to an end and paves the way for extradition of Nirav Modi. The diamond merchant is accused of 14K crores from Punjab National Bank in money laundering scam. Both CBI and ED filed cases against him on money laundering and fraudulent obtaining of LoUs. He appeared via video link from prison for enquiry. In the verdict that Nirav Modi subsequently wrote to PNB acknowledging the debt and promising to repay. UK magistrate has also agreed that detention conditions in India are satisfactory for Nirav Modi.
He used his firm’s diamonds like R Us, Solar Exports and Stellar Diamonds for fraudulent LoUs in conspiracy with banking officials. His employees and Priyanka Chopra also made complaint on Nirav Modi for not getting their promising money. Congress has not stopped its attack even after the verdict. It demands that Government should answer how Nirav Modi got away from India. Who helped him to flee India after the huge banking scam was erupted.
