People are more dynamic now-a-days when compared to previous generations. Social media revolution in recent past has improved creativity and general awareness among the people.
E-commerce giant Myntra is being target now for the people that made the company to issue new logo. Now, Myntra website has changed its branded old logo. Myntra was founded in 2007 and company was acquired by Flipkart in 2014.
The Myntra logo has popular among the
people for more than a decade. Mumbai based activist had filed a complaint
alleging that Myntra’s logo was insulting and offensive towards women. Founder
of Avesta foundation Naaz Ekta had alleged that old logo resembled a naked
woman. She made a complaint in December, 2020 and demand for the removal of the
logo. Lot of discussion and arguments takes place in social networking sites on
her demand.
Some of the people quoted Gmail logo as reference against her demand. They thought it is very difficult to find fault with everything as scan. Some people lashed that person has dirty mind could see such lame things. Mumbai police gave notice to parent Flipkart on the complaint. They came to opinion and acknowledged that logo indeed offensive in nature for women. Myntra has informed that company has changed the letter “M” with a tweak in color and asked 30 days’ time for the changes. The changes are going on and Myntra is replacing old signage on all platforms including website and app.
