Vaccine wars takes place among European Nations amid of pandemic virus surge again in 2021. EU is facing critical situation two ways to counter coronavirus.
One is shortage of AstraZeneca and Moderna vaccines and second problem is surging of coronavirus. Many countries in EU are continuing to impose restrictions on people lives. But in India it is something different to EU. It seems both negligence and lack of responsibility cause to increase the positive cases in India.
After
gap of few months of relief Wuhan virus cases are increasing in India. India is
witnessing its own second wave of pandemic virus. PM Modi was conducted virtual
meeting with all state Chief Ministers to cautious them on surging. As per
ICMR, 70 districts in India have recorded 150% increase in cases since two
days. India’s daily reported cases reached to again 35K after gap of 4 months.
Maharashtra is the worst affected state in the country and state government
imposed restrictions, lockdowns and night curfews in several cities. ICMR
scientists said that excess crowding in the streets, new variants and
reluctance of wearing masks of the people are the factors.
There is huge demand for vaccination programme in India. Rapid vaccination is definitely help to containing the surge cases. Israel, UAE and UK are examples for speedy control of virus because of rapid vaccination. It is very shocking fact that India’s vaccination programme is dead slow and around 6.5 percent of vaccines have been wasted in India. Health ministry has distributed more than 75 million doses to states. Union health ministry said that an average of 10% vaccine wastage happened by states in India. Supply is not concern here but lack of pre-cautionary steps is the most bothered concern. India should learn lessons from EU which don’t have enough vaccine supply and for speedy vaccination from Israel, UAE and UK.
