EU vaccine chaos is continued and has messed about taking far too long to authorize vaccines. Denmark, Iceland and Norway have temporarily banned the use of AstraZeneca’s pandemic virus vaccine.
There were concerns that patients were developing blood-clots after taking the first shot of AstraZeneca. Earlier, there were complaints of allergy after taking the Pfizer vaccine. Denmark is the first nation to put ban on AstraZeneca after a 60 year old woman died of developing blood-clot.
Health Authority of the country stated the link between the vaccine and blood clots are yet to be determined. European Medicines Agency (EMA) has launched an investigation into the AstraZeneca vaccine. Denmark suspension might slow down the country’s vaccination campaign. Followed by Switzerland, Italy, Austria, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and Luxembourg suspended AstraZeneca vaccine. Apart from EU nations, South Africa, Thailand and Iran also suspended the vaccine.
On March 09th, Austria had announced that it had suspended the use of batch of AstraZeneca vaccines. Estonia, Lithonia and Luxemburg used the same batch of vaccines. Italy would suspend the use of a batch of the vaccine following the death of two women. Astrazeneca said that patient safety was the priority while doing trails. EMA said that batch ABV5300 had delivered to 17 EU nations comprising 1 million doses. This batch seems to create the problems to EU nations.
