North Korea is one of the few countries with no confirmed cases. Many in the world are surprised how Kim Jong-un controls the pandemic when developed countries even struggle to handle it.
As per Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), North Korean leader Kim has sacked several senior aides for neglecting coronavirus precautions that causes a great crisis in the country. Means North Korea has just pretended to show “Zero cases” to the world but it has not happened in reality. Pyongyang closed its borders in January 2020 to defend itself against the Covid-19 pandemic that first emerged in neighboring China.
North Korea has a population of around 25 million. Korean Central News Agency (KCNA)has never reported on the country's coronavirus situation to the world till now. Why is KCNA doing so to the world now? It seems that Kim Jong-un intentionally sends signals to the world that North Korea is in a grave situation because of covid-19. He indirectly requested world nations for aid and help by leaking the sacked news to KCNA. North Korea closed its borders and stopped international flights and international aid that followed Pyongyang to tell the world that North Korea is coronavirus-free. Officials tested nearly 30K people on June 14th and announced that North Korea has no cases.
What forced Kim to fire top officials in the name of failure of coronavirus. It is clear that North Korea showed fake numbers on coronavirus to the world as per the directions of Kim. Now, this has reversed and the situation seems to be out of control in the country. North Korea doesn’t have the infrastructure or resources to protect people from pandemic. Kim has predicted a huge crisis in the country and used KCNA to present the ground reality before the world. Earlier, Kim had warned his people to prepare for the "worst-ever situation'' in the food crisis. Reportedly, Kim called politburo members and scolded them for their incompetence in handling the pandemic and made them as scapegoats.
