Coronavirus gave chance to scientists and doctors in doing research in many ways to lesser impact on people. Every time they come up with new findings and governments are following with new guidelines.
Initially, everyone rushed for hydroxychloroquine as a game changer for the control of pandemic. Plasma therapy seems as sigh of relief for the patients and followed by Remdesivir injection that increased anti-bodies into the human body to fight against virus. WHO has ruled out these and send guidelines to the nations accordingly.
There are reports from around the world that people in some countries are being given two different doses by mistake. People used to take two shots for every vaccine except Johnson & Johnson with certain weeks of gap. Scientists are doing research on the effect and position of the human being in that scenario. In many cases, the efficacy in producing antibodies was found to be higher. This forced many nations to change their policies on mixing vaccines for conducting trials on cocktail vaccines. Vaccine mixing refers to inoculating the same person with two different jabs with a gap of several weeks.
As per UK study, combination of one jab of covishield and second dose of Pfizer could boost the immune system. It seems that there is something about the mixing that could likely increase the immune response. Russia’s Sputnik V itself is designed with a combination vaccine which has an efficacy rate of 91.6%. Experts felt that mixing vaccines prepares the immune system to fight against new variants. Adding to that, Spanish study reveals that 400 people take Covishield as first dose and Pfizer as second dose with a gap of 8 weeks and confirmed that these volunteers produced huge antibodies than the others. Canada allowed mixing of AstraZeneca, Pfizer and Moderna vaccines followed by Germany and France. India stated that it won’t change the policies until it get clear report on mixing of vaccines.
