Kim doesn’t like K-Pop!!

K-pop, short for Korean popular music and is a genre of music originating in South Korea as part of South Korean culture. The music is influenced and developed by styles and genres from around the world.

Even though it originates in South Korea, the popularity of K-pop music spreads to North Korea as well. Trainees for this music live together in a regulated environment and spend many hours a day learning music, dance, foreign languages, and other skills in preparation for their debut. North Korean leader Kim Jong has declared war to stop the spread of South Korean music and movies to his citizens through a secretive anti-K-pop campaign.

He has reportedly considered K-pop, as a vicious cancer which is polluting the youth of North Korea. Kim had regulated the western culture and fashions into North Korea. Kim Jong-un has banned skinny jeans, mullets and certain body piercings as symbols of a “capitalistic lifestyle”. He strongly believes the popular culture of the South is corrupting the 'attire, hairstyles, speeches, behavior' of North Korea's youth. It is not the first time that Kim has cracked K-pop music culture. Official media has slammed the spread of “anti-socialist” and non-socialist culture.

Korean popular music includes K-Music, K-Movies, K-Dramas and K-Pop videos. Kim is believed to be corrupting North Korea’s attire, hairstyle, speeches and behavior. In a bid to curb the country’s growing love for K-pop entertainment, Kim Jong-un has ordered a crackdown on ‘anti-socialistic behavior’ but has probably still failed to stop the country’s K-pop culture fans. South Korean music is now smuggled on flash drives from China. Youth from North Korea are now secretly watching South Korean entertainment K-pop and are attracted towards it.
