Modi’s vaccine policy: Owner’s envy neighbors pride

When Modi government has announced vaccination plan, there was no second wave in the country except in United Kingdom and other EU nations. Modi government exported vaccines to other nations in the name of vaccine policy.

It is well known that the corona vaccination program is progressing very fast in all countries. However, in India, the government is now lagging behind in the vaccination program. Vaccine stocks have also dried up in almost all states. However, there are allegations that the central government is not paying attention to this issue. No matter how many appeals go to the central government chiefs from the states, only a few states are taking the lead in terms of distribution.

Though the Andhra Pradesh government has asked the central government to give them 25 lakh crore doses, the central government officials have not tried to ignore it. Even the state government continues to be impatient at this level. Telangana, on the other hand, also wrote a letter asking the central government to co-operate in this matter and send adequate reserves to the state as they have a huge shortage of vaccination program. However, there are serious allegations that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is exporting six crore doses abroad. Punjab and Rajasthan have warned the centre of fast-depleting coronavirus vaccine stocks, even as a deadly second wave of infections over 1.45 lakh were reported in 24 hours this morning threatens to overrun the country and its already creaking medical infrastructure.

Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation on Saturday received 99,000 doses of Covishield vaccine after it complained of a shortage amid rising cases of COVID-19 in Mumbai. Maharashtra is highest number of positive cases reported regularly in the country. Many were shocked to hear that the Maharashtra government had told the central government that there was only three days' worth of corona vaccine in Maharashtra, but that there was no shortage of the vaccine. The problem is even more prevalent in the national capital, Delhi. The northern states are more populous and now the cases are also increasing in these states. The Central Government has taken a key decision to overcome the shortage of corona vaccine in India. It has decided to expedite the process of approving vaccines that have already been approved abroad like Russia’s Sputnik V.
