Worst ever Naxals attack in recent past

When naxalism is thought to be extinct in these days, it is shocked that Naxals ambushed and killed 22 security personnel on the border of Sukma and Bijapur on Saturday. We came to hear sporadic incidents like encounter and terrorist attacks in Kashmir but hardly from other states.

The slain officers were died after 4 hour long gun battle with banned Maoists group. BJP government has responded immediately and Amit Shah ordered for joint combing in Chhattisgarh and Telangana states.

As per the initial information, that Maoists have successfully trapped 400 armed forces and killed. It was the deadliest encounter involving Indian between Indian forces and Maoists group militants since 2017. It is also shocking that tribal people helped Maoists while attacking police. It is unclear that villagers participated willfully or not in the attack. Civilian involvement tied the hands of Security forces. Security officers gathered at Bijapur to nab Madvi Hidma who is the Maoist leader with a prize of 25 lakh on his head.

Intelligence gets wrong information that Madvi Hidma was in the Bijapur area. He is the mastermind behind 2017 Sukma attack. The forces said that ambush and dehydration led more casualties. Many security personnel, to lighten their load, got rid of food and water to carry their injured colleagues. As the encounter continued for long, it led to dehydration as the area is extremely hot and humid.
