Assuming the health emergency in coming days, Government asks drug makers to ramp up Remdesivir production to full capacity.
It seems that India sees emergency like situation from all corners in second wave. It is correct to blame large gatherings for India’s outbreak more than one lakh in a day.
The country is trying to scale up its vaccine rollout which has only reached a small fraction of people in the country. Modi government has refused to impose second lockdown like what some western countries are doing now. Delhi and Maharashtra are imposing restriction for people moment in night. Experts are believed that spread of coronavirus of second wave is much faster than the first one. Many states have made complaint that of shortage of vaccines. Indian govt is now send 17 lakh doses of vaccine to Maharashtra which is main state to report majority cases in India.
Sluggish vaccination drive and shortage of vaccines are two different issues but jointly made an impact on India. The country has exported 64 million doses to other nations before the second wave strikes. Every nation is giving priority to its people but Modi government export the vaccines in the name of vaccine diplomacy. Now the situation turned as worse. The government said that all seven manufacturers of Remdesivir in the country have been asked to ramp up production to full capacity by next week. Remdesivir is considered as a key antiviral drug in the fight against COVID-19, especially in adult patients with severe complications.
