The pandemic virus is creating a rampage in India. India’s daily coronavirus cases increased twice in 10 days. More than two lakh cases and more than a thousand deaths were reported since 24 hours. Keeping huge surge in second wave, people are rushed towards hospitals for the vaccination.
People are going back after seeing the placard “No Vaccine Stock” at hospitals. India is facing very grim and pathetic situation to counter second wave of coronavirus.
The United States and India are the only countries in the world to register more than one lakh new cases in a single day. In the past, the maximum number of cases per day was over three lakh in the United States. Vaccination shortage is huge problem that India is facing now amid surge in new cases. Though India produced millions of doses of two vaccines, government exported them to other nations in the name of vaccine policy. It will take two more months’ time to produce the two vaccines in huge quantity again.
Serum Institute of India has clearly said that it can’t produce vaccines to match the increase in domestic demand which is consistency increasing in the country. Demand for vaccination has increased rapidly in past few weeks. Only 7% of Indians have received their first dose of coronavirus. People are cautious after second wave starts for vaccination, there was no rush in January when vaccination campaign started. Indian healthcare sector is under severe strain. For the first time people are getting frustrated at Modi government on allowing Kumbh Mela where hundreds of thousands of people participated in north India.
