The Taliban group was hidden when United States of America and NATO forces existed in Afghanistan. Soon after President of the United States of America Joe Biden announced the withdrawal of forces from Afghanistan in April, Taliban groups got activated to capture Afghanistan.
Now, the Taliban has seized more than half-of the nation. The U.S. President has requested the Taliban to spare it’s embassy in Kabul. Whole world was praised in 2011 when U.S. former President Barak Obama announced that U.S. forces killed Osama bin Laden. The situation has completely reversed. The United States of America fell down commanding the Taliban to the requesting stage.
Taliban is on rampage in Afghanistan. They will likely capture the capital city Kabul very soon. On the other side, the Taliban continues to grow in strength weeks ahead of the complete US troops withdrawal deadline. As per buzz, Taliban groups will target embassies in Kabul soon after they capture the city. Keeping the grave situation in mind, Biden governance is now sending additional 3K troops to evacuate personnel from the US embassy in Kabul. U.S. officials seek assurance and protection to it’s embassy from Taliban groups attacks. Both U.S. media and opposition compared US retreat to the humiliating fall of Saigon 1975 during the Vietnam War. They blamed the Biden decision as reference to US forces' failure in defeating the Taliban.
Two decades of US operation in Afghanistan will come to an end on August 31st. US and NATO forces leave the operation without fulfilling a stable and democratic government in the country. There was a huge loss of money and human resource in this operation. More than 240K people were killed including US military, terrorists, civilians and Afghan army. The Taliban recently seized control of ten provincial capitals and US officials believe the Islamic extremists may retake Kabul within 1-3 months of the Aug. 31 deadline Biden set for withdrawing most US troops from Afghanistan. Taliban has been with concrete plans after the agreement with the Trump government in 2020 on withdrawal of the forces.
