Taliban is in preparations to form its first cabinet after capturing Afghanistan. But they are not in a complete celebration mood just because of Panjshir Valley. Taliban has tried for 4 days to seize Panjshir Valley but they can’t do it. Taliban is facing stiff resistance in Panjshir valley.
The lions of Panjshir Valley have stood firmly against the Taliban for 4 days. The most revered personality in Panjshir is Ahmad Shah Massoud, a commander whose leadership is not across the valley but far beyond many cities of Afghanistan. Anyway, Panjshir valley still remains out of Taliban control. National Resistance Front (NRF) showed great fight back against Taliban when U.S. and NATO forces ran away due to fear.
Panjshir valley has its own history
of invasions. Every time the valley stood against invaders. Panjshir valley is
the dream of defenders and nightmare for invaders. Geographically, the valley
has an advantage for defenders. A bastion of resistance against the Taliban is
once again forming in the Panjshir Valley, the edge of which is just 43 miles
(70km) to the north of Kabul. The valley has just once access point through a
narrow Panjshir river passage. It is now the center of a gathering of
resistance against Taliban ruling. It is very important for Taliban’s to
capture the valley due to the short distance to Kabul and great connectivity to
other northern cities of Afghanistan. The valley remained untouched when the
British conquered Afghanistan in 19th century.
Later, the Soviet Union also failed to take control of the Panjshir valley in the 1980s. Forces against Taliban were regrouped under the leadership of Ahmad Massoud. Vice President Amrullah Saleh and Former Defense minister Bismillah are also part of the resistance. NRF led by Ahmad Massoud remains a challenge for the Taliban. Assuming the possible defeat in advance, Taliban is reportedly ready for delegations with NRF. Anti-Taliban fighters dig in to defend Panjshir Valley, men & women, even children carrying a gun to fight against Taliban terrorists. Taliban tried hard to control the Panjshir province but they were faced with huge resistance and 100's of Taliban fighters were killed.
