New Zealand & Kerala in fighting on corona and gaining votes


There are few similarities between New Zealand and Kerala. Both are situated in coastal belt and relay on tourism for their economy. Two governments got success in controlling pandemic virus and people voted for the governments on recognizing their efforts in fighting against coronavirus. 

Results of the Kerala local bodies' election have come as a respite for the Pinarayi Vijayan government. It is a great victory for LDF just 6 months before the general elections.


Kerala Local body election results came in favor of ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF). It is big victory in local elections is a big boost for CM Pinarayi Vijayan. He is facing severe criticism on gold-smuggling scam from the opposition. Vijayan had faced set back in 2019 General Elections when LDF was just managed to bag single seat out of 20 seats in the state. LDF won Alappuzha Lok Sabha over UDF nominee with narrow margin of votes. For BJP the results are bitter sweet. It has retained Palakkad Municipality seat and also won in Pandalam.


BJP even managed to win in Left strongholds of Kannur and Kollam for the first time ever. Thiruvananthapuram result is the most disappointed for BJP. Congress has continued its bad phase in Kerala like in other parts of the country. Pinarayi Vijayan took the pandemic very seriously and gets success. Kerala is the first state whose positive case numbers were soared in India initially. Pinarayi team did their level best in taking actions to control the virus. Health Minister Shailaja became role model to the world in tackling the virus. She was the special invitee from UN in explaining her efforts on coronavirus.
