3rd wave in South Korea forced to impose 1st lockdown

Germany issued fresh restrictions on lockdown, Swiss is also doing the same and the wave enters into Asia. East Asian countries have reported record numbers in recent days, with Japan topping 3,000 daily cases for the first time ever. 

Some countries put restrictions on X-mas celebrations and ruled out New Year celebrations. Number of positive cases is surging again after two months downfall in many countries. It seems Corona phobia not leaving human beings in the world. South Korea mulls first lockdown amid record COVID cases in third wave.

Fourth Asian economic giant is facing third wave of coronavirus and implementing first lockdown in the country. Yes! South Korea could face first lock down since the eruption of pandemic virus in the country. The country’s daily new cases hit record twice in a row over the weekend. 1030 new cases have confirmed on December 13^th. It was 950 cases recorded on day before (December 12^th). That made an alert and cautions to Moon Jae-in government in South Korea to predict the uncertainty in coming months. He said that the country is facing an emergency situation.

The country had successful story 6 months back in controlling the virus without implementing lockdown.  It tightens restrictions based on the severity of the outbreak. New curbs would prohibit gatherings of 10 or more people. Schools would switch to remote learning, companies could allow only essential workers in offices. Gatherings of more than 50 people are banned and restaurants are prohibited from serving customers after 9 in night. Presiding over an emergency meeting at the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters for the first time since February, Moon urged vigilance and called for an all-out effort to contain the virus.
