No New Year celebrations in Germany

Germany is bracing for much tougher lockdown in coming days. Lockdown with limited restrictions in early November failed to reduce infection rates and causality cases.

That forced German Chancellor Angela Merkel to impose strict restrictions on German people. Germany will go into a "hard" national lockdown, starting next week and continuing through the Christmas period. On one side its neighbor UK has launched vaccination programme, German is ready to impose strict lockdown.

The new rules, agreed with Germany's 16 state leaders, will come into effect from Wednesday. The new restrictions will be in effect until at least January 10 to help tackle the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic, which threatens to overwhelm the country's health system. With this there is no chance of New Year celebrations in the country and X-mas celebrations are going on with all conditions. The German government wants to reduce the death toll, and is giving financial support to businesses affected by the lockdown.

Since three months anti-lockdown protests takes place in Germany. People are not convincing with lockdown restrictions and protest against government rules. German anti-lockdown protest group placed under observation by intelligence services. Germany has used the so-called “lockdown lite,” avoiding a complete shutdown. The number of Coronavirus-related deaths reached a new high on Wednesday, with 590 deaths. Leader of anti-lockdown protest in Germany tests COVID positive after getting hit with water cannons. It seems that government took serious on these protests.
