Is this 4th wave in Hong Kong?


There are 60 new positive cases reported in Hong Kong on December 25th. Hong Kong city government took necessary and mandatory steps to counter the sudden surge. 

Hong Kong Chief Executive Carrie Lam has announced that the city government will expand community testing in order to identify silent carriers of the novel coronavirus as soon as possible and break transmission chains. Hong Kong is extending the quarantine period as 21 days for those who arrived to Hong Kong. It demotes how critical the situation appears in Hong Kong.


People who are coming to Hong Kong from December 25th should spend 21 days in a government designated hotels. Government has added 11 more restaurants to the existing for tourists in the city. Travelers from mainland China, Macau and Taiwan are given exception from the extension. On December 23rd, two mutated strain cases from UK found in Hong Kong. The city has banned all flights from Britain and stopped flights to Britain as well. Government is in fear of gathering people over the holidays could causes rise in Covid-19 cases in the city.


Hong Kong mall and restaurant owners are not sitting back in the face of the city’s fourth wave of coronavirus infections, and have come out with innovative ways to promote their tenants, particularly restaurants. It is crucial for mall owners that they keep their tenants. Restaurant dine-in-services are banned from 6 pm. Hong Kong has recorded 8,425 positive cases of pandemic virus which included 135 causalities till December 25th.
