It is used mainly for safe and effective during the storage and transport.
The consumption of pork products is deemed to be religiously impure for the Muslims. If that is the case, how many Muslim nations approved the covid-19 vaccines in their countries? UAE Fatwa Council in UAE ruled to all Muslims can use vaccines even it contains pork gelatin. Indonesian government has certified and procured coronavirus vaccines after consulting the clerical body in the country. This forced some companies to made pork gelatin free vaccines. Pharmaniaga of Malaysia is planning to make the world’s first halal Covid-19 vaccine. AJ Pharma of Saudi is working on pork-free vaccine. It is not clear if the vaccines developed by Moderna and the China National Pharmaceutical Group (Sinopharm) contains haram components. Bahrain, the UAE and Pakistan have approved the Sinopharm vaccine, while Singapore’s government has authorized the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine for use in the country.
